Born Celine Joelle Tran to a Vietnamese father and a French mother in Paris, Katsumi splits her time between France and California, where she is juggling a career in both producing and directing, as well as the obvious acting.
Katsumi was raised in France, and concedes to knowing little about her Vietnamese heritage. Despite her exotic looks, she identifies more with the lifestyle she grew accustomed to having grown up in such a populous city.
Katsumi says that growing up, she fit quite neatly into the stereotypes one might want to cast over the city of Paris; she smoked, she drank wine, and she was liberal with her sexuality. She was curious at a young age, and began to scratch her itch as soon as she was able to find willing and able playmates.
